Mecha Figure Review - TruForce Megaman X [Designer Series]

Review & Gallery: TruForce Collectibles - Megaman X (Rockman X)

The definitive Megaman X collector item!
The Megaman X is the only figure that TruForce made (from a Kickstarter) and it is a beautiful and impressive piece. The re-imagined Maverick Hunter got a massive overhaul in terms of looks and he look more modern than ever.

+ Sculpt and Paint: one of the strong points of the figure. The sculpt feels very modern but not overly designed. The painting is fantastic, which I have no complaints. The different color separation creates the feeling that he is an actual android and doesn't make the figure looks boring. TruForce did a really good job considering this project was kick-started.

+ Articulation: Superbly posable. The Megaman X is highly articulated with a wide range of motion across the figure. The hips and shoulders can be extended and/or pulled out to further extend the movement potential. With a bit of imagination, it can pull off any dynamic poses you want.

+ Accessories & Gimmicks: Most of the things our original Reploid need is included. We got a spare normal arm, an X-Buster, 3 effect parts for X-Buster, 2 faceplates (1 normal, 1 shouting), a pair of back-thrusters (all new addition to X's design). In terms of gimmicks, the back of the legs can open up to reveal a pair of thrusters, LED in the X-Buster and moving panels on the knees. In general, we got enough accessories and gimmicks to play with for hours.

+ Conclusion: Overall, the TruForce Megaman X is a fantastic figure for Megaman's fan and even for non-believer of the Maverick Hunter. It just encompasses the major qualities an action-figure collector look for and is fun to play around with. The playable value if this figure is the highest among the Megaman X's figure I have ever touched. It is regrettable that TruForce wasn't able to release a Zero figure to go with him. At least there are 3 other color variations of this design for you to choose (X-Boost, Test Color and Kai)

+ Overall Score: 9/10
