SHIN SAKURA TAISEN EPISODE 5:
REVIEW AND DISCUSSION
In this episode, we see Azami getting more and more suspicious about Klara, considering she saw what Klara did last episode, and planning to investigate her. It is a very cute concern, especially when Azami considers herself as a "shadow guardian" of the Revue just because she's a ninja (though her clothes are quite unconventional for one). This also attracts Claris - the mage of the team - because she is curious about how things will unfold. Claris Snowflake (who the hell came up with the name lol)'s voice actress is Saori Hayami (a veteran seiyuu) and her accent carries a foreigner feeling to it, which is quite unique for me.
Sakura Wars is still a perfect mix between comedy and serious plot-advancement. We see a lot of mishaps and mayhem, but also see bits and pieces of the plot unfolding. The Russian guy is still suspicious as hell, although personally, I don't think he is a pure evil guy, just some shady business.
We see the Kouma and Black Cape appear again, still targeting Klara. Azami and Claris got help fro Klara and was able to defeat the Demon, as well as figuring out Klara's ability (which is an amplifier power of sorts). White Cape-sensei appeared again to save Klara (I still don't know why they haven't figured out her identity).
This episode served to expand more on Azami and Claris character as well as forming a bond between them and Klara (I think next week will be Choco-Bismarck Anastasia). So far the plot is quite slow but not bad.
