[Anime Review - Spoiler] Gundam Build Divers Re:Rise episode 18 discussion

GUNDAM BUILD DIVERS: RE:RISE EPISODE 18 REVIEW

Finally, Uraven! What a magnificent debut. 
The first Core II change and they sure took their sweet time (luckily we got to see it before the delay). Justice Knight was cool too but Hiroto did steal the show (but I wanna see "Earth to Uranus core change!!!! Not the other way around!!) 

The story continues on with all the El Dora citizens evacuating to the ruins and Alus' army intercepting them. Build Divers in turn stand in their way and protect the people. The Alus Gundam appears again and went head to head with Uraven. 

As you all know, Uraven is a sniper suit. The way they incorporated all the sensor bits into it is very nice. It got 3 wireless and 2 wired, making it a total of 5. It is a very innovative design element. 

Core II with Earthree armor

The fight scenes in this episode is fantastic! May, Kazami and Par got their parts but the main role is obviously Hiroto's. Alus anticipating his move and Hiroto anticipating Alus and went one step beyond was so satisfying. The melee between Hiroto and Alus is also nice, with exploding feelings and emotions. Combat choreograph is perfect (sasuga Obari-sensei!) that goes along with the most badass OST ever since GBF (the original Divers got nothing on this)

We can see Hiroto slowly coming to terms with his past, while still struggle with his own reflection that he saw in Alus. Alus copied his state before these events, and Hiroto saw his former self in it. The two are 2 sides of the same coin and Hiroto must overcome his struggles to embrace what he and Eve had (but I ship May and Hiroto tho). From the preview at the end, it's mostly confirmed that Eve is an Ancient from El Dora, drawn to GBN by Hiroto's feelings, and the rest is as you know. 

Overall, this is one episode worth waiting for. The previous ones presented a perfect setup for this week's ep. It keep us even more interested in the story and how it will play out. Too bad the continuation won't be anytime soon. 

Note: After this episode, the series will go on hiatus due to Covid-19 situation in Japan. Sunrise hasn't announced a returning date so all we can do is wait. Many other series and toy releases are also affected.
